Throwback Thursday #3

by Dan Gheesling

On Twitter one of the weekly trends is to post old photos from your past on Thursdays, dubbed “Throwback Thursday” or #TBT.

If you follow me on Twitter, you saw this #TBT post.

From time to time when I post a #TBT on Twitter, I’ll also post it on here with a story longer description than 140 characters. ;)

Northwestern Edition

Dan-Gheesling-NorthwesternSince I’m actually in Chicago right now getting ready to present at Northwestern University, I decided to pull some photos from my last trip to Evanston.

October 21st, 2006

Long story short I was a Graduate Assistant football coach at Michigan State University and we were playing Northwestern.

In the 3rd Quarter we were down 38-3 with 9:54 left in the 3rd quarter. That’s a huge deficit.

What happened after that 9:54 mark was something I’ll never forget. A team who was beat up and humilated, came together to stage the greatest comeback in NCAA Football History.

This football is in my office as a constant reminder of that great comeback, which still proves to me on a daily basis that ANYTHING is possible and to never give up.

Here is a quick recap of the comeback:

    Anything is possible. Exactly :)
    Thanks!

I remember this game. ESPN switched to it shortly after the blocked punt. I was like wow we are actually back in this thing. I cheered so hard after Drew Stanton’s TD pass! This game is so special that it kind of parallels your Big Brother journeys :)

It’s a big-time coincidence for you to be in Chi-town on the 21st day of a month during your last 2 visits.
