Children’s Hospital of Detroit – Charity Event

Over the past year I have been carefully watching Gamers Outreach, a non-profit dedicated to helping kids in Children’s Hospitals.

Back in February I met the founder of Gamers Outreach, Zach, at an event he put on at Eastern Michigan University, and I was really impressed.

Gamers Outreach builds and delivers mobile gaming stations (GO Karts) to Children’s Hospitals across the country for kids to use during their hospital stay.

The GO Karts provide a distraction for the kids during treatment and something for them to look forward to while having to stay in the hospital.

Learning about Gamers Outreach and seeing the tangible efforts they make to directly helping kids had a profound impact on me.

Seeing the good they are able to do on the ground level, made me want to get involved, so we are!

This Saturday May 2nd, from 11AM-11PM EST, I am going to be doing a Gamers Outreach live stream for 12 hours to benefit Children’s Hospital of Detroit.

Whether or not you are a gamer, or even enjoy video games, it is an extremely worthy cause.

Our goal is to raise $4000 to build a GO Kart for Children’s Hospital of Detroit.

How You Can Get Involved

1. Donate. You can donate through this link. We will be live tracking donations during the live-stream, but donations are open now!

2. Bid on this piece of Big Brother memorabilia – if that’s your thing and you want it!

3. Help spread the word about the stream!

Share this article, RT this, or share this article on Facebook!

I’ve always felt funny/uncomfortable about asking people for money for charitable foundations, but maybe because I have never felt so strongly about one as I do Gamers Outreach.

Whether it’s $5.00 or $500.00 every donation matters.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, and thanks for your support ahead of time!
