What Caused Me To Have A Fanboy Moment Last Night?

by Dan Gheesling

Dan-Gheesling-Fanboy-MomentEveryone on this Earth has a few weird things that make them extremely happy, excited, and fired up.

These few weird things that cause a fanboy/fangirl chain reaction are special, because they are catalysts.

Catalysts for sheer excitement, joy, and lasting memories.

I’ve been fortunate to experience a lot of cool things in my life, but last night during a live-stream, a rare fanboy moment went down live during the show.

The Back Story

Before I get into what exactly happened, you need to know there are very few things that I truly fanboy over.

One of those things, is anything to do with the Karate Kid.

(See most recent fanboy moment here)

Outside of that, retro old school video games carry a lot of nostalgic memories for me.

So when I first stumbled upon a YouTube artist named FamilyJules7x, who covered classic video game tunes with his own metal renditions, it really struck a chord with me.

I slowly became obsessed with his music, to the point where his music had more play counts in my iTunes than my favorite band of all time, Weezer.

Here are all of the daily scenarios in which I listen to his music:

His music is flat out just that good.

The other amazing thing about FamilyJules7x is that he has TWO YEARS worth of video game covers available for direct download…FOR FREE. (Year 1 & Year 2)

I’d imagine all of his songs combined would be the equivalent of 10 albums, but he had them all available for you to listen to free of charge.

One thing I try to do to pay Jules back for ALL of his free music, is to listen to his playlists on YouTube to help him generate ad revenue.

FamilyJules7x has an amazing passion for music and video games, and what he creates is a perfect example of someone doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing with their lives!

While some of you may not enjoy his music (I bet you’ll have a difficult time finding at least ONE song you don’t love) his drive to produce is just as admirable as his talent.

So now that you understand what FamilyJules7x does, you can probably understand why I fanboyed out when he SHOWED UP IN LAST NIGHT’S LIVESTREAM!

The Fanboy Moment

Unexpected last night, while playing the Binding of Isaac (a twisted Legend of Zelda type game), I found out that Jules was in the stream watching.

A fanboy moment erupted instantly.

No longer did it matter that I made it as far as I ever did in the game, I was fully fanboying out to the fact that Jules was watching the stream.

Keep in mind, I’ve never met Jules, nor do I know him outside of his music, but none of that mattered.

I just instantly wanted to thank him for ALL of his hard work the best way I knew how, by having a complete meltdown.

You can watch the highlights of the FamilyJules7x meltdown here:

The video cannot be shown at the moment. Please try again later.

When it was all set and done, last night’s stream turned out to be my favorite and best stream yet.

The Aftermath of Fanboying

In a way, I feel like it’s near impossible to pay back Jules for everything he has done with his work.

That has to be part of the definition of why someone fanboys out.

When something causes so much enjoyment that you feel like there is no way to repay them.

So this blog post is just one (of many ways) I’m going to try to pay back Jules.

I invite you to listen to his music here on YouTube (if you like it let the ads play and then Subscribe to his channel).

And if you really like it, you can download all of his songs from Year 1 by clicking this link, and all of his songs from Year 2 by clicking this link.

If you start to find yourself fanboying out to his music, I’d also invite you to support, or hire him to create music for you.

Also, he is set to release his FIRST song of 3rd year on YouTube this Monday (it’s a pretty big deal).

You can watch his new video premier Monday night at 8PM EST on Twitch.

When it comes to fanboying out, remember, the weirder you get, the better. Jules thanks for everything!

What weird things do you fanboy/girl about it? Let me know in the comments below!

I usually do not make myself fan of anything very easily. But reading every blog, post, or tweet of yours, you leave a space for us to comment about, witch makes me wake up my brain cells and think about the story you write for , anxiously waiting what is going to be next from you. Does this make me your FAN, or what?
